The old Amber Larva is an unobtainable food item. It was replaced by the Amber Larva in 0.4.7-4a21.
Prior to this version, Amber Larvae could be used to permanently increase the player's maximum health by 50 as many times as they were consumed; this meant that if enough were obtained, a player could build up an extremely unbalanced and unintended maximum health count.
This was patched in 0.4.7-4a21, and the old Amber Larva was replaced with the current Amber Larva, which instead will only increase the player's maximum health on the first use.
Any existing Amber Larva items that were already stored in a player's inventory or storage items would remain with the ability to increase maximum health several times, due to the fact this item and the current Amber Larva are separate items entirely. Beyond this, however, it is completely impossible to obtain this item in regular gameplay.
