Cattle can eat items dropped on the ground, from a Feeding Tray, or from the player's hand. Holding their favorite type of food in their line of sight will cause them to follow the player. When they are close enough, they will consume the held item.
Cattle can store up to 4 units of food in their stomach. Feeding them adds 1 unit, and 2 units are required to produce their respective resource. Cattle spawn with 1 unit already stored.
Breeding[]
Baby cattle will spawn when two cattle of the same type have both eaten at least 30 times and are next to each other. Baby cattle do not produce resources, and will grow up into an adult after eating 8 times.
Cattle do not respawn, and can be attacked by enemies. It is highly advisable to build enclosures to keep cattle safe long term.
Feeding[]
For Moolin and Bambucks, a simple Mushroom farm can be made by placing Spike Traps on top of Fungal Soil. The traps will break the Mushrooms as soon as they grow. A Robot Arm can be used to transfer Mushrooms to a Conveyor Belt and then they get delivered to a Feeding Tray using another Robot Arm.
For Strolly Polys and Dodos, Wood has a chance to spawn Blackbugs when broken, which can be easily farmed using Drills.
Cattle are no longer affected by aura effects such as Malugaz burning set bonus, and summoned creatures like the Ghost Scholar Caveling from the Phantom Spark will no longer attack cattle.
Cattle should no longer be able to escape through fences and other blocking objects.
