When training combat skills, XP gained is per hit, and it does not change with damage dealt. Use the fastest and the lowest damaging weapons to get the most XP per hour.
Slime Bosses Cheese
If you are having a hard time beating the colored slime bosses (besides the first one) because of their status effects (such as slippery and burning), you can try to obtain the Crown Summoning Idol, kill the King Slime boss and then use the set so the Slimes don't get aggressive on you while you can still hit them (including the bosses!). (tested 20/09/2024)
