Igneous the Molten Mass is an optional boss found within the Molten Quarry.
Summoning[]
Igneous is found inside a Molten Quarry that generates approximately 650 tiles from The Core. The quarry is considerably larger than other regular quarries.
An Igneous the Molten Mass Scanner can be used to reveal their location on the map. A loud thumping sound can be heard and the screen will begin to shake when Igneous is nearby.
Once defeated Igneous can be re-summoned by placing a Giant Slime Summoning Idol on their rune, located below their original spawn point.
Behavior[]
At full health, Igneous will only begin attacking players within a 6 tile radius of them. Once damaged, this radius expands to 20 tiles.
Igneous attacks by quickly leaping towards the closest player, dealing damage where they land and leaving behind a patch of Ground Magma Slime.
Additionally, Igneous instantly breaks any non-indestructible objects in their path, including walls. Any pits/liquids will be filled in with Lava Rock Block ground.
Every 5–7 seconds Igneous will pause and perform one of the following attacks:
- Spew fireballs towards the nearest player that deal moderate damage and inflict burn.
- Spawn multiple blobs of magma nearby that slowly move towards Igneous and will heal them for 10% health upon contact. They can be destroyed in a single hit by the player. The amount of blobs is increased for every player in the world and when enraged.
If the player moves out of Igneous' range during combat, or Igneous travels more than 25 tiles from their rune, they will return to their rune to regenerate health (10% of their maximum every 5 seconds).
Once Igneous reaches 50% health they will become enraged and begin moving much faster. The amount of magma blobs spawned will also be increased.

- In multiplayer, Igneous gains additional health depending on the amount of players in the world. It will automatically adjust whenever a player joins or leaves the world.

Tips[]
- Igneous spreads Ground Magma Slime while moving around, as well as shoots fireballs which both apply a burning debuff to the player. The most effective way to counter this is by eating cooked food made from fish caught from the Molten Quarry.
- The magma blobs that heal Igneous are most easily dealt with using a fast-attacking range weapon like the Galaxite Chakram.
- With enough precision and timing, Igneous, like other slime bosses can be defeated easier using Shields, using it to parry leaping attacks. Using this technique paired with good armour and quick access to great health potions, most of Igneous' attacks can be withstood and recovered from without much dodging required.
